About Maddie Boratto, MSW, LSW

Therapist

Maddie Boratto is a Licensed Social Worker who provides compassionate, client-centered care rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and respect for each individual’s lived experience. Maddie believes therapy works best when it is natural and accessible, guided by the unique needs, strengths, and goals of each client rather than rigid frameworks. She believes building trust and genuine rapport is foundational, and strives to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered.

“The bottom line for me is to build a trusting, working relationship with the people I’m serving. My approach is more focused on getting to know you. And then, I weave in whatever methodology comes up, but it’s really organic for me. Finding the right therapist is like dating. The best thing you can do is be yourself and—if it fits, it fits.”

Maddie earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Carthage College. Her clinical experience includes work in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, where she co-facilitated group therapy, provided strengths-based individual sessions, and led psychoeducational groups focused on coping skills and mindfulness. Maddie also has experience supporting college students through her work at Carthage College’s Health & Counseling Center, where she helped develop mental health resources, collaborated with NAMI, and supported student wellness initiatives.

Maddie’s Story… A sociology class sparked her fascination with human behavior, inspiring Maddie to pursue therapy and social work. At a formative moment, the unexpected passing of her father during her freshman year of college deeply influenced her decision, leading her to seek a people-centered, helping profession where she could support others during challenging times.

Maddie is an artist at heart, drawing portraits, painting, experimenting with polymer clay—a passion that mirrors her fascination with the richness of individual stories. Whether experimenting in the kitchen, hiking in nature, or enjoying live music, Maddie embraces life with warmth, curiosity, and humor.

Maddie is especially passionate about client-first, individualized care and values working as part of a collaborative team to support holistic healing. She approaches her work with warmth, intentionality, and a deep respect for each client’s personal journey.
